"To be content is to be King!"
- Categorized in: Thoughts
To be content is to be free of desire, envy and restlessness. Contentment is not just passively accepting ones 'lot' and wallowing in it, but using it for positive means, understanding it. Contentment is living in the here and now, for only 'now' exists, make the best of that 'now'.
Contentment is being grateful for that which one has and not taking anything for granted. Contentment is knowing where one 'fits' into the pattern of things (Life).
Fulfillment of desire is not contentment as one desire just leads to another. There is no such thing as good luck or bad luck, only what IS. Was it bad luck when the poor farmer's only horse ran away? Was it good luck when it returned two days later with 2 wild horses? Was it bad luck when one could not get the aeroplane reservation that one desired - then good luck later as it crashed? Just ride the waves of life and go as far as you can in the right direction.
Contentment leads to physical, emotional and mental stability. Only when the mind is content can it concentrate and 'know God'. "As the result of contentment, one gains supreme happiness."

I think this is a hugely inspirational rambling, the clarification of contentment leaves me with a gogeous feeling of peacefulness.
